GET STARTED
- Check the Fresno State's Coronavirus Information website and your department often for updates
- Communicate with your students right away
- Review your syllabus and course schedule to determine priorities and expectations
- Pick tools and approaches familiar to you and your students
COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR STUDENTS
- Use Canvas as a central meeting point
- Communicate regularly with your student through Canvas Announcement or the Inbox tool
- Set expectations of how often you will be sending messages and how quickly you will reply
DISTRIBUTE COURSE MATERIALS
- Upload presentations, readings, videos, and other content to Canvas for student access
- Create a logical structure in Canvas by Week/Topic/Type
- Be sure students know where to access new content
CONDUCT CLASS ONLINE
- Consider using Zoom to conduct online synchronous class sessions or hold online office hours
- Record class presentations using Zoom, Screencast-o-matic, Camtasia or similar and share through Canvas
COLLECT ASSIGNMENTS AND ASSESS LEARNING
- Use Canvas tools (Assignments, Quizzes, Discussion Boards) for student submissions instead of email attachments
- State expectations but be ready to allow extensions
- Pick tools that your students are familiar with
- Use SpeedGrader and Rubrics to grade and provide feedback
