When students partner with local community benefit organizations a unique opportunity arises for students to develop a better understanding of the comprehensive needs that exist in the community. These partnerships provide students with valuable learning experiences and community agencies with a valuable pool of potential volunteers, interns, and even employees.

Jan & Bud Richter Week of Service
Our center was established on November 13, 2007, thanks to the Richters’ generous $3.5 million pledge. Fittingly, November 13 is also World Kindness Day, a reflection of the guiding principle by which the Richters lived their lives: “Do unto others as you would have done unto you.”
We invite you to take part in the fifth annual Richter Week of Service, a week-long celebration of giving back and continuing the Richters’ extraordinary legacy of kindness and community engagement. Several service opportunities will be held throughout the week—join us in honoring Jan and Bud through service.
When: November 15 - November 22, 2025
