Scholars In Service
This program provides eligible students with an opportunity to enhance their academic study with community service experiences related to their academic major and/or prospective career while earning an associated scholarship.
The Scholars in Service (SIS) Program is administered by the Jan & Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning. The SIS Program has been providing eligible students with an opportunity to enhance their academic study with community service experiences related to their academic major and/or prospective career since 2012. In order to be eligible, students must have a 3.5 GPA or above, have an unmet financial aid need of at least $2,400, and demonstrate the learning they gain from a community service experience through a credit-bearing course. If selected for the program, students must complete 75 hours of service per semester with an approved service site and will earn a $1,200 grant each semester.
A limited number of positions are typically available before the start of the fall semester and sometimes before the start of the spring semester. Learn more about the application process and current position availability below.
