Determining Objectives
Prior to designing a service-learning assignment, review your course objectives and
determine which objectives will be met through service learning. As you weigh the value of the service learning assignment, keep in mind that it
is important to give service learning assessments a strong weight in your class as
students often don’t recognize the value of writing journals and “volunteering” hours.
